The Hartmann Neuron.
I have wanted one of these since it first came out. I got excited by the virtual instrument version that was released shortly after the keyboard and then was crushed when the company went belly up soon thereafter. It’s been on my eBay search list for years. Every so often one comes up…and it’s always at least $3K. Too too much. Still out of reach. Very frustrating.
The above is a demo by Taylor Dupree of some of the pads and textures that can be created with this machine. I LOVE these tones and sounds and producing something akin to these (for me) often involves complex processing chains, resampling, and edits. The thought that you can create and control these types of tonalities in real time from a keyboard absolutely blows me away.
I’ll keep searching. So few were made, I doubt the price will ever drop much.

Keep looking. I searched duckduckgo for hartmann neuron for sale and came up with one for $2700 in Salinas, California. It’s listed in yakes.com but is referenced from reachoo.com. http://www.reachoo.com/ads/108817824?utm_source=yakaz is the full URL of the sale site, but you can probably leave the ?utm etc. off. I already have one but would not sell it for that little. Or at all, for that matter. It’s too special. Mine, in particular. It has history.
Yep. I came across one recently and just missed it.
The problem is that the scammers on eBay have zeroed in on the Hartmann and for awhile there many, many Neurons showed up, all by the same suck*ss scammer with the “contact me directly” email link for payment. Ashame.
I came close last time though. I have a VS and although it pales in comparison, I can bide my time.
I’d even by a broken one and attempt to fix it…
